“A person has to take care of his soul as well as his body, and just as a person who is sick in the body turns to the doctor, a person who has mental illness has to go to the doctor of the soul – the philosopher or the sage.”
Sages, mystics, and philosophers have always been the healers in this arena. They are the ones who authentically traveled through the darkness, through the various states and symptoms, learning the terrain and the language of the soul, in order to properly transform suffering into wisdom. That’s how they became sages.
They were the original “peer support” – the teachers, the healers, the elder guides, with extensive personal lived experience, who traversed the dark terrain, found their way through it, and brought back the wisdom and methods to help others.
“The primitive magician, the medicine man or shaman is not only a sick man, he is above all, a sick man who has been cured, who has succeeded in curing himself.”
The knowledge and practices have existed for millennia, and are universally part of every authentic spiritual lineage. Spiritual wisdom and philosophy (and the tools of mysticism) applied and implemented correctly are the medicines that address the needs of the soul. They offer the philosophical ground and perspectives, the correct lens through which one might understand his/her suffering, and they teach the person how to navigate his experiences correctly – in the direction of healing, awareness, and soul growth.
In alignment with this tradition and foundation, based on my own extensive experience, I work closely with people who suffer from severe mental illness, kundalini syndrome, and all the various experiences that fall under the “spiritual emergence” umbrella. I offer education, spiritual direction, and training in the various personal healing practices.
Sessions are available remotely (via phone or video call), and are offered on a pay-what-you-can basis.
